After a recent overnight inspection by the AA Hotel & Hospitality Services in June, we’re thrilled to announce that The Red Lion Hotel Salisbury has again been granted AA 4-star status.

The in-depth inspection assessed 58 unique aspects of The Red Lion hotel’s offer, in line with the AA’s strict reporting metrics, after which our scores were totted up and we comfortably retained our 4-star AA standards.
In fact, the inspector, who had conducted a previous visit to the hotel, went as far to say in her report that “it was a pleasure to return” which we regard as high praise indeed, when you consider that the AA assesses more then 4000 hotels in Britain.
“A smiley and polite team”
From the warm welcome our inspector received on arrival from our reception team, to the luggage assistance and room escort given, and the service in our Victoria Lounge, The Red Lion Hotel Salisbury passed for our high hospitality and service standards on every front.
Even our room service, when put to the test, was cited as being efficient and timely, while our Vine restaurant staff impressed with their knowledge of our menus, well paced-service and food intolerance advice.
“Bedrooms smartly appointed & offer good levels of comfort”
A good standard of housekeeping was noted throughout the hotel, while the bedrooms themselves were praised for being “well prepared for arriving guests” and “diligent cleaning.”
The quality fixtures and fittings of our hotel bathrooms, along with the good range of soft towels and toiletries were also referenced. As was the water pressure from our taps and showers which the inspector found to be “good… at a constant and even temperature.”

Overall, the inspection went into extensive detail, assessing everything from the ambiance and decoration of our shared guest spaces, to the variety of dishes offered on our 1220 bar and Vine Restaurant menus – as well as the meals taken by the inspector during her overnight visit.
