Have you considered getting married in April? The weather at this time of year can be surprisingly warm and sunny, and spring is surely the best of all the seasons!
If you’re not sure if an April wedding is for you, Chloe, our experienced Wedding Co-ordinator, has put together 10 reasons to explain why April is the perfect month for your wedding day.
There is a huge amount of symbolism involved in getting married in any springtime month. Spring means new beginnings, brighter and warmer days and rebirth. If you want a symbolic line running through your wedding day, can you think of a better one than that?
April is a great time for wedding flowers because of the springtime bounty of fresh blooms. You can have the most beautiful flowers in your bouquet and as your decorations throughout the wedding venue. You’ll have your pick of the bunch – literally.
We know the old adage in the UK about April showers, but the chances of it raining on your special day in April isn’t that high. To counteract the small chance, just make sure that your venue offers both indoor and outdoor options.
While the quality of your day and the memories you make is the most important thing, nobody has a fortune to spend on a wedding. April is a great time to get married because it’s still considered off-peak and you get better weather at the same time.
Keeping with the off-peak theme for a moment, this also means that you’re going to have more choice when it comes to wedding venues and vendors.
If you have your heart set on a venue, or you want to choose a specific vendor, your chances of being able to book them are much higher during the spring, compared to summer.
Most people choose to get married during the summer, so the fact you’ve chosen to get married in April means that you’re probably going to be one of the first nuptials of the year. That’s great because people will really look forward to your day and the atmosphere will be better as a result.
We’ve just mentioned that you’re likely to be one of the first to get married in the calendar which means that your guests might have a bit more enthusiasm when shopping for wedding gifts! The tight money months at the start of the year have passed too.
In the earlier part of the year, your honeymoon options are likely to be restricted to long-haul, expensive locations. However, during the month of April, many European holiday destinations start to open up and the weather is very pleasant.
You’ll also find cheaper honeymoon packages as a result of the early season.
April sees longer and brighter days than the months before, which means you can party for longer and enjoy the day with your nearest and dearest. If the weather is good, you can also stay outdoors for much longer.
Most people don’t start going away for their holidays until June, so it’s very likely that everyone you want to attend your wedding is going to be available.
April is considered off-peak for both weddings and holidays, which gives you a much better chance of a packed wedding venue for everyone to enjoy.
Now you know the reasons why we love an April wedding, what do you think? There really are so many good reasons to get married in April!
The next decision is likely to be tough one – your wedding venue.
